Mark Burns
Over the last ten years, Mark Burns has developed a proven track record in improving teaching and leadership in education. He’s co-authored two best-selling books in this field. More recently, he has worked with FTSE100 retailer and third sector organisations, to develop the quality and impact of their learning and development programmes.
Through his work, he has developed a deep understanding of learning design and how to overcome the barriers to learning in organisations.
Recognition
Mark is a finalist in the prestigious CIPD People Management Awards 2018 for Best Learning & Development initiative in Public/Third Sector.
Mark has worked extensively delivering and coaching on the TES Training Award shortlisted Osiris Teaching Intervention in schools nationwide. He manages a significant team who lead the programme around the UK.
Mark’s track record in learning has been recognised with the award of Fellowship of the Learning Performance Institute
Experience
Mark works extensively with leaders at all levels to identify the barriers to learning and how to improve the impact of learning. He draws on his vast experience of working intensively with leaders in a wide range of organisations.
Publications
Mark co-wrote the best-selling (more than 35,000 worldwide) book Outstanding Teaching: Engaging Learners with Andy Griffith, published in 2012. Outstanding Teaching: Teaching Backwards with Andy Griffith, published in 2014. (Available in paperback and kindle). Both books have been translated into several languages. The latest book, The Learning Imperative was released in October 2018

Andy Griffith
Andy has over thirty years’ experience as an educator. His work is driven by the mission to help both adults and young people to be more open to learning and thereby more effective. Andy specialises in designing learning programmes for both children and adults.
Andy has worked with BBC Education and Comic Relief amongst others and is the creator of the Outstanding Teaching Interventionprogramme which has been recognised in the prestigious TES School Awards and has helped over forty schools in England to move up Ofsted levels. This programme uses video analysis and ideas from the books that he has published with Mark Burns to help to improve the quality of teaching.
